KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- No. 1-seeded David Ferrer controlled the later stages of his match Thursday in posting a second-round win at the Malaysian Open tennis tournament.
Ferrer took eight of the last 10 games in a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Alex Bogomolov Jr. Even with losing serve once in the second set, Ferrer won 72 percent of the points on serve on the day. His four breaks -- three in the second set -- allowed him to advance.
