GIJON, Spain, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- David Ferrer topped John Isner in four sets Sunday, sending Spain to the Davis Cup finals for the fourth time in five years.
Ferrer defeated Isner 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 by breaking Isner's serve six times. It is uncharacteristic for an opponent to record so much success against Isner's serve but Ferrer won 42 percent of the points when receiving serve. He had two breaks in each the second and fourth sets and one each in the first and third.
