MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Adam Dunn and Dayan Viciedo each homered in the sixth inning Sunday, igniting a six-run rally that powered the Chicago White Sox over Minnesota 9-2.
Viciedo finished with three RBI while Dunn, Kevin Youkilis and DeWayne Wise each knocked in a pair as the American League Central-leading White Sox completed a three-game sweep.
Chicago improved its lead over second-place Detroit to two games in the AL Central following the Tigers' loss to Cleveland Sunday.
The Chisox will host Detroit Monday in the makeup of an earlier rained-out contest.
Jake Peavy (11-11) collected the victory after yielding two runs on four hits. He issued one walk and struck out six strikeouts in six innings.
Minnesota's Scott Diamond (11-8) was roughed up for six runs on seven hits through 5 1/3 frames.
Joe Mauer hit a solo home run for the Twins.
