NFL: New York Jets 48, Buffalo 28

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Mark Sanchez connected for three touchdown passes and New York's defense forced four turnovers Sunday in the Jets' 48-28 season-opening win over Buffalo.

Sanchez went 19-of-27 through the air, racking up 266 yards, while finding rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill twice with scoring strikes for New York (1-0).

Darrelle Revis, Kyle Wilson and Antonio Cromartie each picked off a pass for the Jets' defense, which also recovered a Bills fumble.

Buffalo (0-1) got three touchdown passes from Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the signal-caller also yielded a trio of interceptions.

C.J. Spiller ran for 169 yards with a touchdown yards on 14 carries in the setback.
