MLB: New York Yankees 6, Boston 4

NEW YORK, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Two homers by Nick Swisher and another from Derek Jeter Friday helped the New York Yankees overcome a big inning and down Boston 6-4.

Boston took a 4-3 lead in the third with a four-run outburst, three of the runs coming on a home run by Dustin Pedroia.

Jeter tied the score with a solo shot in the fifth and New York moved in front in the sixth when Jayson Nix singled in Casey McGehee.

Swisher added some insurance in the seventh with his second solo blast of the game. His other one came in the first inning.

Phil Hughes gave four hits and four unearned runs in seven innings to get the win. Rafael Soriano worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his 30th save.

Franklin Morales (3-4) surrendered five runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings to take the loss.
