NEW YORK, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- John Buck's two-run double capped a decisive fourth inning Tuesday that carried the Miami Marlins to a 4-2 victory over the New York Mets.
Justin Ruggiano, Jose Reyes and Carlos Lee stroked consecutive singles leading off the fourth to break a scoreless tie, and Giancarlo Stanton's sacrifice fly made it 2-0 Marlins.
After Austin Kearns singled and Nick Green popped out, Buck delivered his two-base hit to right field that chased home Lee and Kearns for a four-run lead.
Carlos Zambrano (7-9) collected the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and Steve Cishek picked up his seventh save as Miami took the first of a three-game series.
Mets starter Jonathon Niese (8-6) was the loser, coughing up four runs on eight hits over six full frames.
Daniel Murphy socked a solo homer for New York.
