PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Jack Jewsbury scored the equalizer in the 79th minute Sunday, elevating Portland into a 1-1 tie with short-handed FC Dallas.
Jewsbury notched his second goal of the season 27 minutes after Dallas' Zack Loyd was sent off with a second yellow card.

On the play, Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman cleared a ball but Jewsbury corralled it at the edge of the penalty area and fired a volley back toward the net as Hartman unable to recover.
Portland improved to 5-12-5 with the draw.
Scott Sealy scored a first-half goal for Dallas (5-11-8).
