Olympic Medal: W Cycling Time Trial

LONDON, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Kristin Armstrong of the United States won the Olympic gold medal Wednesday in the women's cycling time trial.

It was her second straight Olympic title, having come out of retirement in hopes of repeating. She covered the 29-kilometer course in 37 minutes, 34.82 seconds to win the race by almost 16 seconds.

The silver medal went to Judith Arndt of Germany and the bronze to Olga Zabelinskaya of Russia.
