SAN DIEGO, July 29 (UPI) -- All-star relief pitcher Huston Street has signed a two-year contract extension with the San Diego Padres, the team said Sunday.
Street, who will turn 29 Aug. 3, has 17 saves in 31 appearances this season, going 2-0 with an 0.91 ERA.

The closer came off the disabled list June 5 after missing 29 games with a strained right lat muscle.
Terms of the deal weren't announced, but MLB.com reported it was for $14 million, with a club option for 2015.
"Huston has done a fantastic job for us, and he's fit our clubhouse well," Padres General Manager Josh Byrnes said. "He's about to turn 29 [on Thursday]. We think this is a good decision to solidify the position for us."
