MLB: Pittsburgh 5, Houston 3

HOUSTON, July 26 (UPI) -- A.J. Burnett gave up two home runs over 7 1/3 innings but the Pittsburgh Pirates supported him with three home runs Thursday in a 5-3 win over Houston.

Burnett (12-3) allowed two runs on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts for the Pirates, who got a solo homer from Starling Marte in his first big-league at-bat leading off the game, and a two-run homer apiece from Clint Barmes and Garrett Jones.

Joel Hanrahan walked two and allowed a run on one hit in the ninth but got out of trouble to get his 30th save for Pittsburgh, which has won seven of its last nine.

Chris Johnson homered and drove in two for the Astros, who has lost 10 straight.

Astros' starter Dallas Keuchel (1-3) took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts over six innings.
