BALTIMORE, July 25 (UPI) -- David Price struck out 10 batters over seven innings and became the major leagues' first 14-game winner Wednesday in Tampa Bay's 10-1 rout of Baltimore.
Price (14-4) fired seven innings of one-run ball, yielding seven hits without issuing a walk. The Rays' ace tossed 68 of his 105 pitches for strikes and lowered his ERA to 2.57.
Desmond Jennings led off the game with a homer off Miguel Gonzalez (2-2), sparking a five-run first inning. Jose Lobaton drove in a run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Elliot Johnson added a two-run single in the big opening frame.
Lobaton later blasted a three-run homer in the fifth to cap the scoring for the Rays, who clinched their three-game series.
Gonzalez was rocked for seven runs on seven hits, lasting just 2 2/3 innings for Baltimore.
J.J Hardy went 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Orioles dropped their third straight.
