TORONTO, July 25 (UPI) -- Coco Crisp belted a pair of solo homers to lead a 15-hit attack Wednesday and the surging Oakland Athletics stayed hot with a 16-0 dismantling of Toronto.
Crisp finished 3-for-6 with three runs scored while Chris Carter added a bases-empty clout and drove in three runs for the Athletics, who clinched their three-game series and improved to 16-2 in July.
Yoenis Cespedes, Brandon Inge and Brandon Hicks each chipped in with a pair of RBI as the A's tied a franchise record for the largest margin of victory in a shutout.
A.J. Griffin (3-0) struck out nine over six shutout innings to earn the win, scattering three hits while overcoming a pair of walks.
Jerry Blevins and Jim Miller completed the whitewash with a combined three scoreless frames.
Toronto's Rickie Romero (8-7) lasted only 1 1/3 innings. The Blue Jays left-hander walked six and was lit up for eight runs on four hits while losing his sixth straight start.
