KANSAS CITY, Kan., July 22 (UPI) -- Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen recorded his MLS-best ninth shutout Saturday, holding New England at bay for a 0-0 draw.
Nielsen was sorely tested in the 15th minute but responded with a parrying save on Ryan Guy's streaking header toward the goalmouth.

New England's Matt Reis made his best save in 52nd minute when he sprawled to make a fingertip save on a header from Jacob Peterson on a night where the temperatures neared 100 degrees.
Sporting (11-6-4) retained second place in the Eastern Conference with the tie, while the Revolution (6-9-5) turned in their third straight game without a win.
