NEW YORK, July 22 (UPI) -- Matt Treanor's two-run single triggered a five-run 12th inning Sunday that carried the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 8-3 win over the New York Mets.
Luis Cruz added a run-scoring hit and Adam Kennedy capped the big inning with a two-run double for the Dodgers, who completed a three-game sweep of the Mets.
Los Angeles seemed on the way to notching a regulation victory but Javy Guerra allowed a tying run in the ninth when Ruben Tejada singled with none out and later scored on Ike Davis' groundout.
Josh Wall (1-0) earned the victory while making his major-league debut, pitching a scoreless top of the 12th.
Juan Rivera provided a two-run homer for Los Angeles, which pulled to within 1 1/2 games of National League West-leading San Francisco after the Giants' loss to Philadelphia Sunday.
Ramon Ramirez (2-2) was rocked for five runs on five hits and three walks in the 12th for the Mets.
Daniel Murphy went 4-for-5 with an RBI for the losers.
