Voeckler pedaled the mountainous 194.5 kilometers from Macon to Bellegarde-sur- Valserine in 4 hours, 46 minutes and 26 seconds. It was his third career Tour stage win.

Voeckler outpaced Italian Michele Scarponi and German Jens Voigt.

Wiggins did well enough to maintain his 1:53 edge over defending champion Cadel Evans to hang onto the yellow jersey for another day.

Christopher Froome, Vincenzo Nibali and Denis Menchov round out the Top 5 in the overall standings.

Stage 11 Thursday will cover 148 kilometers from Albertville to La Toussuire-Les Sybelles.

Brit military on standby for Olympics

LONDON, July 11 (UPI) -- As many as 3,500 more British military personnel are at the ready should additional security be needed at the Olympics in London, the BBC reported Wednesday.

The British news network said it has learned the additional troops are a backup plan should the private security contractor G4S be unable to gather enough trained staff by the time the games begin late this month.

The armed forces are already scheduled to provide about 13,500 personnel. Putting 3,500 more troops on standby would mean some will likely have their summer leave canceled.

The BBC said it understands G4S has not been able to guarantee it can supply the 10,000 guards it has been contracted to deliver. A G4S spokeswoman said the contractor had accepted "that the government has decided to overlay additional resources," the BBC said.

"This has been an unprecedented and very complex security recruitment, training and deployment exercise, which has been carried out to a tight timescale," she said.

"We have encountered some issues in relation to workforce supply and scheduling over the last couple of weeks, but are resolving these every day and remain committed to providing a security workforce for the start of the London 2012 Games."

Jeremy Johnson, 20, was indicted this week and arrested Monday, the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader reported. He was seriously injured in the December crash, and a judge reduced bail to $1,500 because of his physical condition.

Dionna Johnson, who is not related to Jeremy, said her son, Diondre Johnson, another football player, Michael McCrimmons, and a friend, Patrick Holt of Benton, Ark., were passengers in Jeremy Johnson's SUV when it rolled over on Interstate 44. The young men, all 19 at the time, had been visiting a nightclub in Joplin, Mo.

Diondre Johnson was thrown from the SUV. Jeremy Johnson was able to get out but was hit by a car while the SUV was struck by a truck with McCrimmons still inside.

A witness said the SUV went by him very fast just before the rollover.

Rison ordered to pay $322K child support

PHOENIX, July 11 (UPI) -- Former NFL wide receiver Andre Rison has been ordered to pay more than $322,000 in restitution for missed child-support payments.

Rison, who was indicted in August 2011 and pleaded guilty April 25, was also given five years' probation, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

U.S. District Judge Frederick Martone in Phoenix ordered Rison to pay $1,000 a month in addition to his regular payments of $2,358 a month, said Katherine Harris, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Zeva Pettigrew, assistant special agent in charge of HHS's Los Angeles office, said Rison had originally been ordered to pay child support for a son in May 1999 and has made only two payments since November 2001. He was not married to the child's mother.

Pettigrew said the payments had been made as a result of withholdings by Rison's employers and he had not made any voluntary payments.

The Journal-Constitution said Rison had made at least $19 million in base salaries and signing bonuses during his 12-year NFL career.

He has said he had little of the money left.

Rison played for the Atlanta Falcons 1990-94. He played for the Green Bay Packers in 1996, when the Packers went on to win the Super Bowl, and appeared in the Pro Bowl five times.
