CARSON, Calif., July 8 (UPI) -- Vancouver goalkeeper Joe Cannon made four saves Saturday, backstopping the Whitecaps to a 0-0 draw with Chivas USA.
Cannon was tested in the 68th minute when Juan Pablo Angel launched a shot. The keeper bobbled the volley, triggering a scramble in front of the net, from which the Whitecaps emerged unscathed.

But seconds later, Cannon needed to make a diving save on a Paolo Cardozo free kick to the right of the box.
The goalie collected his MLS-best eighth shutout but not before making two more saves with the clock winding down, preserving a point for Vancouver (8-4-6).
Chivas (5-7-5) was coming off a 10-day layoff.
