COMMERCE CITY, Colo., July 4 (UPI) -- Darren Mattocks scored late in the first half Wednesday and the goal stood up to give Vancouver a 1-0 decision over Colorado.

The goal by Mattocks was one of just three shots taken by Vancouver in the game and the only one that was on net.

Vancouver (8-4-5) has picked up 10 points in its last five games. Colorado (7-9-1) has lost three of its last four.

The shutout was recorded by Joe Cannon, who was credited with six saves.
