TORONTO, June 29 (UPI) -- Yunel Escobar put Toronto in front with an RBI double in the seventh Friday and the Blue Jays held on to down the Los Angeles Angels 7-5.
Los Angeles had a four-game winning streak snapped and Toronto ended a three-game skid.
The Blue Jays scored five times in the fourth inning -- three of the runs coming on the first of two home runs in the game by Adam Lind -- and took a 5-2 lead.
Los Angeles rallied to tie it, with John Hester contributing a two-run blast in the seventh, but Toronto quickly regained the advantage.
Edwin Encarnacion singled with two out in the bottom of the seventh off reliever Jordan Walden (2-2), Kelly Johnson drew a walk and Escobar followed with his ground-rule double to right.
Lind added an insurance run in the eighth with a solo homer.
The win went to Francisco Cordero (3-2), the third of five Toronto pitchers, who recorded the final two outs in the seventh. Casey Janssen struck out two in a perfect ninth for his ninth save.
