MIAMI, June 22 (UPI) -- Jose Bautista and Kelly Johnson drove in three runs each Friday in powering the Toronto Blue Jays to a 12-5 decision over Miami.
The Blue Jays built an 11-2 lead, allowing Ricky Romero to coast to an easy win that advanced his record to 8-1.
Toronto broke things open with a five-run sixth that included an RBI single from Johnson and a sacrifice fly by Escobar.
Johnson had a sacrifice fly in both the third and fourth while Bautista singled in a run in the third and hit a solo homer in the seventh, his 23rd home run of the season.
Romero allowed four runs on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts. His gaudy won-loss record has been put together despite a 4.34 earned run average.
Anibal Sanchez (3-6) gave up six runs on seven hits in just 3 1/3 innings to suffer the loss.
