LONDON, June 20 (UPI) -- Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who have met in the last four Grand Slam finals, are the top seeds for the Wimbledon Championships, which begin Monday.

Djokovic is No. 1 in the world and has won three of the last four major tournament titles, including the 2011 Wimbledon title. Nadal, second in the rankings, picked up his Open Era-record seventh French Open title recently.

The seeding for Wimbledon was announced Wednesday with the pairing due later in the week. The seedings generally follow the ATP rankings, however, there is an added emphasis on results from grass-court tournaments the last two years.

Roger Federer, who won at Wimbledon six times from 2003-09, is the third seed with Andy Murray fourth and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga fifth.

Wimbledon officials moved Tomas Berdych, who is ranked seventh, to the No. 6 seed, putting world No. 6 David Ferrer in seventh. Janko Tipsarevic is seeded eighth, completing the top tier.

There were more changes in the second eight. The Nos. 9-16 seeded players, with their rankings in parentheses, are: No. 9 Juan Martin del Potro (9); 10 Mardy Fish (12); 11 John Isner (10); 12 Nicolas Almagro (11), 13 Gilles Simon (13); 14 Feliciano Lopez (17); 15 Juan Monaco (14); 16 Marin Cilic (16).

The Wimbledon Championships start first-round play Monday and wrap up July 8 with the men's singles final.
