ANAHEIM, Calif., June 19 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jerome Williams indicated Tuesday he's "feeling better" after being hospitalized with breathing problems.
Williams was rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center after he had been pulled from the Angels' 5-3 loss to his former team, the San Francisco Giants, during which he surrendered four runs on seven hits over 3 1/3 innings.
Team members were told the hurler had passed out in the locker room following the performance after having difficulty breathing, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Williams posted a message on his Twitter account Tuesday saying: "Wanted to let everyone know that I'm feeling better. Gonna get some rest so I can be back on that mound competing again."
Team officials said after the game Williams was "resting comfortably" and would remain hospitalized overnight for observation. They didn't immediately respond when questioned Tuesday if Williams had been released from the hospital, the newspaper said.
Williams had told the Times before the game he was seeking "redemption" against the Giants, who had traded him to the Chicago Cubs in 2005.
