ANAHEIM, Calif., June 6 (UPI) -- Garrett Richards earned a win in his first start of the season Tuesday and led the Los Angeles Angels past visiting Seattle 6-1.
Richard (1-0) allowed one run on four hits and two walks and struck out eight batters in seven innings.

Mark Trumbo had a pair of home runs in support of the 24-year-old right-hander and Torii Hunter added a solo shot.
The Angels outhit Seattle 11-5. Michael Sanders had three of the Mariners hits, including a solo home run in the third inning after Los Angeles had built a 4-0 lead.
Blake Beaven (3-5) was charged with all six Los Angeles runs and took the loss. Beaven gave up 10 hits over five innings.
