SPARKS, Md., June 4 (UPI) -- Former U.S. baseball executive Jim Duquette Monday donated a kidney to his daughter, Lindsey, who suffers from focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

Lindsey's kidneys were removed in May 2011 and she has undergone 14 hours of dialysis per day since then, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The operation was performed at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Duquette was the general manager of the New York Mets for the 2004 season and the vice president of baseball operations for the Baltimore Orioles in 2005. He currently co-hosts a radio show on Sirius Satellite Radio.
