MLB: Minnesota 7, Cleveland 4

CLEVELAND, June 2 (UPI) -- Trevor Plouffe drove in three runs, including a go-ahead solo homer in the sixth inning, sparking the Minnesota Twins to a 7-4 win over Cleveland Saturday.

Plouffe's two-run single in the first capped a four-run outburst that put Minnesota ahead 4-0, but Cleveland scored the next four runs to even the contest.

Then in the sixth, the Twins' third baseman pounded an offering from Indians starter Josh Tomlin (2-3) into the left-field seats, putting Minnesota ahead for good.

Joe Mauer later added a two-run blast for some insurance as Minnesota bounced back from a 7-1 loss Friday to even their three-game series at Progressive Field.

Brian Duensing (1-2) earned the win with two shutout innings in relief of starter P.J. Walters. Jared Burton and Glen Perkins combined for 1 2/3 scoreless frames and Matt Capps collected his 11th save.

Shin-Soo Choo drove in a pair of runs for the Tribe, who fell for the sixth time in eight games.
