PHILADELPHIA, June 1 (UPI) -- Hector Luna and Hunter Pence combined to drive in five runs Friday, allowing the Philadelphia Phillies to fight off Miami 6-4.
The Marlins had a three-game winning streak snapped even though they produced 13 hits.
Luna delivered a two-run single in the first to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead and a run-scoring double in the seventh to complete Philadelphia's scoring. Pence hit his 12th homer of the year, a two-run shot in the fifth.
Philadelphia built a 6-2 lead going into the eighth before Logan Morrison and Justin Ruggiano hit solo homers for the Marlins.
Jonathan Papelbon worked the final 1 2/3 innings for his 15th save, preserving the victory for Mark Buehrle (5-5), who gave up 11 hits over five innings, but did not walk a batter and limited the Marlins to four runs.
