Brazil romps over USA in soccer exhibition

LANDOVER, Md., May 30 (UPI) -- A penalty kick by Neymar in the 12th minute Wednesday started Brazil to a 4-1 exhibition rout of the United States.

It was the first loss of the year for the American national team after opening 2012 with four victories.

The United States held a 17-13 advantage in shots, but Rafael was tremendous in goal while the scores kept piling up for the Brazilians.

Thiago Silva, Marcelo and Alexandre Pato also had goals for Brazil, which will meet Mexico next week in the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys.

Team USA will face Canada in Toronto Sunday.
