MLB: Chicago Cubs 11, San Diego 7

CHICAGO, May 28 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano's two-run homer in the sixth inning proved decisive Monday and the Cubs broke a 12-game losing streak with an 11-7 win over San Diego.

Soriano's blast over the left-field bleachers with Bryan LaHair aboard erased a 7-6 deficit and boosted the Cubs to their first victory since May 14, snapping their worst skid since 1997.
