WASHINGTON, May 26 (UPI) -- Maicon Santos scored in the 61st minute Saturday, enabling D.C. United to salvage a 3-2 win over New England and grab the Western Conference lead.
After blowing a 2-0 advantage, the Revs went ahead to stay when substitute Santos exchanged back-and-forth passes with Dwayne De Rosario and then slotted the ball home inside the right post.
Brandon McDonald and Dejan Jakovic also scored for United (8-4-3), which vaulted over the Red Bull New York and into first place in the East with its fourth victory in five games.
Saer Sene and A.J. Soares scored within a span of 2 minutes other early in the second half for the Revolution (4-7-1).
