MLB: Detroit 10, Minnesota 6

MINNEAPOLIS, May 25 (UPI) -- Prince Fielder and Delmon Young had six of Detroit's 16 hits Friday and had a hand in a four-run second that ignited the Tigers to a 10-6 win over Minnesota.

Detroit snapped a three-game losing streak, building a 7-3 lead through six innings. Fielder and Young each had an RBI during a three-run seventh that wrapped up the victory.

The Twins took a 2-0 lead in the first, but Fielder and Young both scored while the Tigers were seizing the lead for good in the second. Brennan Boesch doubled in Fielder, Alex Avila doubled home both Young and Boesch and a single by Quintin Berry delivered Avila.

Fielder also contributed an RBI double in the fifth.

Starter Drew Smyly (2-1) stuck around for five innings to get the win. He gave up three runs on six hits.

Two Detroit errors made two of Minnesota's runs unearned.

Anthony Swarzak (0-4) allowed six runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings to suffer the loss.
