LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) -- Clayton Kershaw fired a six-hitter for his fourth career shutout Saturday, propelling the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-0 win over St. Louis.

Kershaw (4-1) allowed only one runner to reach second base in the gem, in which he didn't issue a walk and struck out four.

The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner threw 81 of his 117 pitches for strikes and lowered his ERA to 1.90 as the Dodgers clinched their three-game series in a matchup of NL division leaders.

Justin Sellers hit a solo homer while Andre Ethier contributed two hits and an RBI for Los Angeles, which claimed its third straight and eighth win in 10 games.

The Cardinals' Jake Westbrook (4-3) absorbed the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits over 6 1/3 frames, issuing only one walk and striking out five.
