Ludwick and Ryan Hanigan each socked solo homers in the seventh inning to tie the game 2-2, and Brandon Phillips coaxed a bases-loaded walk from Yankees starter CC Sabathia (5-2) to push across the go-ahead tally.

Ludwick iced the Reds' win with a two-run double in the ninth.

Sabathia suffered his second straight loss, surrendering three runs on six hits and five walks over seven innings. The New York ace struck out six.

Raul Ibanez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Yankees.
