MLS: Seattle 2, Vancouver 2 (tie)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 19 (UPI) -- Fredy Montero's goal in the 90th minute Saturday lifted the Seattle Sounders FC into a 2-2 tie with Vancouver.

In what turned out to be a wild finish, Camilo Sanvezzo gave the Whitecaps a 2-1 lead in the 82nd minute on a free kick that snuck past goalkeeper Bryan Meredith at the back post.

Montero salvaged a point for Seattle (7-2-2) when he received a flick pass from Eddie Johnson and curled the ball just inside the post for the equalizer.

Johnson scored just after halftime for the Sounders, who held onto third place in the Western Conference with the draw.

Alain Rochat scored in the opening period for Vancouver (5-3-3).
