NEW YORK, May 17 (UPI) -- Ronny Cedeno capped a five-run eighth with a three-run home run Thursday, boosting the New York Mets to a 9-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Cincinnati led 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth but the Mets scored in each of the next four innings, tying the score in the seventh when Justin Turner hit a sacrifice fly that scored David Wright.
Rob Johnson reached on a bunt single with one out in the eighth and Wright gave the Mets the lead with an RBI double off Cincinnati reliever Logan Ondrusek (3-1). After another out, Daniel Murphy was intentionally walked. Turner singled to center to get Wright home and Cedeno hit the next pitch into the left-field seats for the five-run lead. It was his first home run of the season.
Mets reliever Bobby Parnell (1-0) got the win by pitching a one-hit eighth.
Joey Votto hit a home run in the fourth for Cincinnati and the Reds pushed the lead to 4-0 in the fifth with Ryan Hanigan doubling in one run, taking third on a sacrifice fly and scoring on a wild pitch.
Lucas Duda had a two-run double for New York in the bottom of the inning while a Mike Baxter sacrifice fly in the sixth and Turner's sacrifice in the seventh tied the score.
