WASHINGTON, May 16 (UPI) -- Goals by Dwayne De Rosario and Hamdi Salihi Wednesday boosted D.C. United to a 2-0 victory over Colorado.
Playing at home for the first time in almost three weeks, United (6-4-3) moved into a second-place tie with Kansas City in the Eastern Conference. It was United's second win in three games.
De Rosario scored in the 25th minute and Salihi added a goal in the 60th minute. Bill Hamid had to make only two saves to record the shutout.
Colorado (5-6-0) had not played in 10 days. The Rapids have dropped two out of three and remained the only team in the Western Conference not to have played a tie game this season.
