MINNEAPOLIS, May 12 (UPI) -- Drew Hutchison and four Toronto relievers teamed up on a five-hitter Saturday, elevating the Toronto Blue Jays to a 2-1 decision over Minnesota.
The 21-year-old rookie Hutchinson (2-1), making only his fifth major league start, stifled the Twins on three hits and four walks over six innings, yielding just the one run. The right-hander struck out four.
Francisco Cordero, Jason Frasor and Luis Perez combined for two scoreless innings and Casey Janssen collected his second save for the Blue Jays, who logged their third win in four games.
Jose Bautista belted a solo homer and Adam Lind added an RBI single for Toronto's two runs.
P.J. Walters (0-1) lost his Twins debut despite pitching well. He gave up the two Toronto runs on six hits in a six-inning effort.
Trevor Plouffe knocked in the only run for Minnesota, which fell to 3-8 in May and is a major league worst 9-24 overall.
