FRISCO, Texas, May 9 (UPI) -- Fredy Montero scored twice in the second half Wednesday to bring the Seattle Sounders their fifth straight victory -- a 2-0 decision over Dallas.
Seattle (7-1-1) moved into a second-place tie with San Jose in the Western Conference. Dallas (3-5-3) is in the midst of a five-game winless streak.

Montero scored in the 68th and 71st minute, giving him three goals for the season.
The shutout was recorded by Bryan Meredith, who made five saves.
