CINCINNATI, May 9 (UPI) -- Eight-year NFL veteran offensive lineman Jacob Bell was placed on the reserve/retired list Wednesday by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bell, who last season played for the St. Louis Rams, appeared in 109 career games -- 100 of them starts.

He signed with the Bengals in April, but announced his retirement less than a month after striking the deal.
Bell, a University of Miami-Ohio product, was drafted in the fifth round by the Tennessee Titans in 2004.
He played for the Rams from 2007-11, starting 12 games for the team last season.
