MLS: Vancouver 2, San Jose 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 5 (UPI) -- Vancouver's Eric Hassli scored late in stoppage time Saturday, handing the Whitecaps a 2-1 victory over San Jose.

The striker missed on a close-range shot early in the extra time, but moments later made up for the miss when he fired a volley past Earthquakes goalkeeper John Busch off a through ball from Davide Chiumiento in the 94th minute.
