Kanepi wins women's Estoril tennis title

ESTORIL, Portugal, May 5 (UPI) -- Sixth-seeded Kaia Kanepi of Estonia lost the first set Saturday but roared back to win the Estoril Open in Portugal over Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro.

Kanepi dropped the first set in nine games then won the next two for a 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 victory over the game but unseeded Suarez Navarro.

Kanepi had beaten top-seeded Roberta Vinci in the semifinals. She captured her second title of the year and third of her career.

Suarez Navarro is 0-3 in championship matches and was playing in her first championship match since 2010.
