MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 7, Colorado 6

DENVER, May 2 (UPI) -- Andre Ethier cracked a three-run homer and E.J. Ellis had three RBI to stake Los Angeles to a 7-0 lead Tuesday and the Dodgers held on to beat Colorado 7-6.

The Rockies pulled to within one with two runs in the sixth inning, three in the seventh and one in the eighth, but Dodgers closer Javy Guerra struck out two in the bottom of the ninth for his eighth save of the year.

Ted Lilly (3-0) sailed through six innings, allowing two runs on four hits.

Jhoulys Chacin (0-3) took the loss with seven runs on 11 hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings.

Carlos Gonzalez drove in two runs for Colorado and pinch-hitter Tyler Colvin hit a two-run homer in the seventh as the Rockies chipped away at the Dodgers' lead.
