MLB: Tampa Bay 3, Seattle 2 (12 innings)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 30 (UPI) -- Elliot Johnson's run-scoring single in the 12th inning capped the Tampa Bay Rays' 3-2 comeback victory over Seattle.

The Mariners had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the 11th when Jesus Montero slammed a solo homer off Wade Davis, but the Rays rallied in the bottom of the frame.

Luke Scott led off with a double off Brandon League (0-2) and pinch-runner Jeff Keppinger went to third on Matt Joyce's deep fly. One out later, B.J Upton looped an RBI single to right field.

After the Rays' J.P. Howell (1-0) pitched a scoreless top of the 12th, Ben Zobrist drew a one-out walk, went to second on a Carlos Pena single and scored when Johnson sliced a hit to left field, beating the tag at the plate from catcher Montero.

The red-hot Rays won for the eighth time in nine games.

Miguel Olivo went deep and Ichiro Suzuki added three hits for the Mariners, who dropped the first of a four-game set at Tropicana Field.
