Lewis extends Alabama LPGA lead

MOBILE, Ala., April 28 (UPI) -- Stacy Lewis strengthened her grip on first place at the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic Saturday, firing a second consecutive 5-under-par 67 for a two-shot lead.

Lewis, seeking her second career LPGA title, entered the day with a one-stroke advantage but padded the lead with her steady play, finishing at 14-under-par 202.

That was two better than Brittany Lincicome, who also carded a 67 to end three rounds at minus-12. She will try to overcome Lewis in Sunday's final round to collect her sixth career victory.

Grabbing sole possession of third place one shot further back was Karine Icher with a 4-under 68.

Sun Young Yoo (69) and Lindsey Wright (70) ended the day knotted in fourth at minus-10.
