MLB: Baltimore 5, Toronto 2

BALTIMORE, April 26 (UPI) -- Adam Jones and Chris Davis hit eighth-inning homers Thursday that broke open a tie game and brought the Baltimore Orioles a 5-2 win over Toronto.

The Orioles won their fourth in a row, scoring three runs in the eighth during a span of five pitches.

Casey Janssen came on for Toronto in the seventh and retired the only two men he faced to get out of a two-on, one-out jam. He was not as successful when he returned to the mound in the eighth.

Jones hit the first pitch of the inning from Janssen (1-1) over the wall in left to give the Orioles a 3-2 lead. Matt Weiters also swung at the first pitch, driving a single to left, and Davis followed by smashing an 0-2 offering out to right for a two-run homer.

That outburst made a winner out of Darren O'Day (2-0), who struck out three over two perfect innings of relief. Luis Ayala allowed a walk and a single in the ninth before collecting his first save.
