MLB: Texas 2, New York Yankees 0

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 25 (UPI) -- Yu Darvish notched his third straight win Tuesday, going 8 1/3 shutout innings and helping the Texas Rangers to a 2-0 win over the New York Yankees.

Darvish (3-0) turned in the longest of his four starts since coming to the Rangers from Japan, blanking New York on seven hits while striking out 10 and issuing a pair of walks.

Joe Nathan recorded the final two outs for his fifth save and American League West-leading Texas evened its three-game series with the Yankees.

Ian Kinsler belted a solo homer and Josh Hamilton added an RBI single to provide the offense for Texas, which improved to 14-4 to start the season.

New York starter Hiroki Kuroda (1-3) absorbed the loss, yielding two runs on five hits over 6 2/3 frames.
