MLB: Pittsburgh 5, Colorado 4

PITTSBURGH, April 24 (UPI) -- Casey McGehee's run-scoring single in the eighth inning capped a Pittsburgh rally that handed the Pirates a 5-4 victory over Colorado.

Trailing 4-3 entering the frame, Clint Barmes (3-for-3) greeted Matt Belisle (1-1) with a solo homer to even the score.

Pinch-hitter Garrett Jones then drew a walk and pinch-runner Nate McLouth went to second on Belisle's fielding error. He advanced to third on an out and trotted home when McGehee served a pitch into right field for an RBI.

The hit made a winner of Tony Watson (1-0), who earned the victory despite allowing a go-ahead, two-run homer to Carlos Gonzalez in the top of the eighth -- the Colorado outfielder's second two-run blast of the game.

Joel Hanrahan picked up his third save with a 1-2-3 ninth as the Bucs claimed the opener of four-game series following a Monday rainout.

Forty-nine-year-old Jamie Moyer pitched well for the Rockies, yielding only one run on six hits over a six-inning start.
