Deion Sanders accuses wife of assault

DALLAS, April 24 (UPI) -- Pilar Sanders, estranged wife of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, was arrested on domestic violence-related charges after Deion Sanders accused her of assault.

Sanders, now an NFL Network analyst, told TMZ.com he was at his Dallas home Monday when his estranged wife and another person began "kicking, biting, and scratching" him in front of his sons, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Besides calling police, Sanders used Twitter to describe what happened.

"Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She's going to jail n I'm pressing charges!," Sanders posted on his Twitter page.

Just minutes later, Sanders posted, "I'm sad my boys witnessed this mess, but I warned the police department here that she was gone try n harm me and my boys. This is on my mama!"

Sanders also posted that he was "filling out police reports now" and posted a photo.

CNN reported Pilar Sanders was booked on suspicion of "assault family violence" and bond was set at $264.

Sanders filed for divorce from Pilar Sanders, his second wife, in December.
