MLB: Atlanta 3, Arizona 2

PHOENIX, April 22 (UPI) -- Tommy Hanson hurled seven strong innings Saturday and the Atlanta Braves logged their 10th win in 11 games with a 3-2 decision over Arizona.

Hanson (2-2) limited the Diamondbacks to two runs on five hits, issuing only one walk while striking out seven for the Braves, who continued their rebound from a slow start to the season.

Jonny Venters hurled a scoreless eighth and Craig Kimbrel wrapped up his fifth save by striking out the side in the ninth.

Dan Uggla's solo homer in the third inning put Atlanta ahead for good.

Joe Saunders (1-1) took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits over seven innings for Arizona, which dropped its third straight to the Braves.

Jason Kubel homered for the D-Backs.
