David Hernandez tossed a scoreless eighth and J.J. Putz earned his fifth save despite yielding a run in the ninth for the D-Backs, who avoided a four-game sweep at the hands of the Braves.

Delgado ended up allowing five runs on three hits in a 5 1/3-inning start.

Freddie Freeman drove in a pair of runs and Juan Francisco homered for Atlanta, which lost for only the second time in 12 games.
