Teixeira's solo homer in the sixth began the New York rally and Swisher smashed a grand slam in next frame followed by Teixeira's second bases-empty blast, pulling the Yanks to within 9-8.

Each contributed two-run doubles in the eighth, finishing with six RBI apiece, and New York went on to clinch its series with the Bosox, notching its fourth win in five games overall.

Rafael Soriano (2-0) earned the victory with a scoreless seventh inning.

David Ortiz went 4-for-4 with an RBI while Cody Ross hit a two-run shot for the Red Sox, who dropped their fifth straight.

Red Sox starter Felix Dubront pitched well, holding New York to one run on four hits over six frames, but the Boston bullpen imploded.
