MLB: Chicago White Sox 7, Seattle 3

SEATTLE, April 21 (UPI) -- Adam Dunn broke out of an early-season slump in a big way with five RBI Friday in boosting the Chicago White Sox to a 7-3 win over Seattle.

Dunn doubled in a run in the first, hit a three-run homer in the second and added a solo shot in the eighth.

The White Sox built a 6-0 lead through two innings and cruised to a win in the opener of a six-game road trip.

Chris Sale (2-1) benefited from the early offense to get the victory, giving up three runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 with 11 strikeouts.

The Mariners suffered their second straight loss, with Hector Noesi (1-2) enduring early troubles. He allowed six runs on six hits with two walks while retiring only four batters.

Dunn had batted .195 and struck out 19 times in the first 11 games of the season.
